McSwiggans is very popular both for lunches and dinners. They do good simple food, including very good steak, with generous portions. The pub part is also nice. It's a bit expensive though when you add in the extra costs for side dishes.

I have often travelled from Meath to Galway just for McSwiggans. There Cajun salmon is to die for. Really good atmosphere in the restaurant and always very busy.

If your travelling alone or with a group Mc Swiggan's in Galway city is the place to eat. There is spacious seating available on different levels. The food is amazing with something for everone's taste and budget. Staff are very friendly. I've eaten here on a number of occasions and have always enjoyed my meal. The only complaint that i do have is that side orders like veg & potatoes are not included in the price of your meal. Other than that i will continue to return.

Very good for big groups.. parties etc. Book ahead. If people are picky with what they like there is plenty of choice. If I want some warm inexpensive soup I can pop in there too :)

Had a very pleasant dining experience here recently. Service was fine while not over-friendly (not neccesarily a bad thing) and the food was very tasty. Usually a safe bet for the price!

love it!! great choice, nice wine, portions can be a bit too big (i am only ever able for the main course!), food is always top quality. would agree though about the side dishes - can push up the prices.
