I'm ridiculously excited about the fourth Scream film, which I know makes me a complete geek. But damn it I don't care, with Wes Craven, Kevin Williamson and all of the remaining cast coming back, there is very much reason to be excited about the most seminal slasher movie in a shitload of decades.

The legend himself, Wes Craven, spoke to Entertainment Weekly about how he sees the series, while Dimsension also revealed a new teaser poster. Craven spewed: "I’ve never felt like these are sequels. This is a film about the progress of, at this point, three core characters, and how all of these events have changed their lives." Apparently Sydney Prescott will have written a novel while the film will be set a decade after the events of Scream 3. Meanwhile, the Stab films are still being churned out in a Saw like manner, when Sydney must deal with a new threat in her life.

The film is scheduled for release on April 15th 2011, so I'm going to start campaigning for an interview with Craven now *ruffles through address book.
