The new location (not so new at this stage) is great. Staff know when you want help and when to leave you alone to just enjoy your food, which btw is fantastic value for money. APPROVE!!!

Having been lured to Darwins by its reputation, we were bitterly disappointed. My dining companion's filet was cold on arrival so was taken away and reheated. Meanwhile I tasted mine to discover a medium-rare that was satisfyingly pink, but lacked any jus - not even a trickle. The explanation provided by the owner that steaks- "re-absorbed" their jus while resting was more cumbersome that it was satisfactory. I firmly believe our steaks had been baked (indeed in our case overcooked) and then very quickly seared ready to serve, which resulted in a utterly unsatisfactory dining experience. We will not be back.

Darwins is one of my favourite places in Dublin. The atmosphere is always great and the staff always ultra helpful and friendly. The big selection of top quality nosh means I have never had the same thing twice and keep going back for more.

A group of us went to Darwin's last week and we all loved it. The atmosphere and staff are lovely, the owner herself was there and couldn't be more helpful. They have an excellent pre-theatre menu which is really good value (3 courses for €24), the mushroom risotto was so tasty, and the rhubarb fool for dessert is a real treat. Some of our group had the fish and they highly recommended it, so Darwin's can cater for more than steak eaters! I'll definitely be back

Darwins is class. Yea the food is a lil expensive but the staff are amazing and willing to help. They are very accomodating. Oh and the chef is more than willing to cook things to your liking--ie add things in or leave things out. The only reason i wouldn't give this place 5 stars is the price

You have to like your steaks. You receive a monstrous hunk of beef here and you'd want to be hungry too. To be blunt, mine was more quantity than quality, but the meal was saved by an ingenious and delicious sampler plate for both the starters and desserts, which offers a selection of all the menu options on one dish for two to share. But as a steakhouse, it was something of a disappointment.

Darwin's do excellent steak as well as other dishes, but the steak is excellent. Haven't been to the new premises yet but if it's the same staff you won't go wrong. gift grub!
