Chez Max is a French restaurant located at 1 Palace Street, Dublin. This friendly brasserie is a reproduction of 1940s' Paris, opening onto a cobbled street at the entrance to Dublin Castle. The food has Parisian authenticity - frogs' legs and other treats like Croque Monsieur and Croque Madame, Soupe a l'Oignon, & Moules Frites. Also a selection of great French wines to choose from. Pastries and a range of classic home-made desserts are also available.

Lovely - a little slice of France in Dublin's city centre. Very helpful and friendly staff, we arrived on a Friday night without reservation and even though the restaurant was very full they managed to find us a table. Food is rustic and tastes authentically French. We had onion soup, duck and beouf bourgignon, and a nice bottle of cotes du rhone, all of which I would highly recommend. Good value too. Think they do a good lunch/early bird deal, worth checking out.

This is a lovely little French restaurant located right beside Dublin castle... The food is amazing, very rich and very French.... The beef bourginon is fantastic; I had this for main course and it was literally melt in mouth texture...

Chez Max is a little gem of a place just off busy Dame Street. Staff were very friendly and the candle - lit ambiance made it a lovely setting. Food was top notch and quite reasonable priced. Will be back sooner rather than later...

For a tiny, genuine flavour of Paris in a little corner of Dublin, this is a wonderful option. Staff are all French, very helpful and willing to speak French to you, but only if you wish. There is a lovely outdoor covered area out the back. The food is very authentic and reasonably priced. A lovely experience - I'll definitely be going back.

Terrific - We ate here last night for my wife's 40th birthday. Great little restaurant. Very French, with lovely staff and a wonderful atmosphere. Its really central just opposite the Olympia. Its great value for money. The menu is simple but with a good range of options. We had the duck and porkbelly both of which were perfectly cooked and delicious. I found the restaurant after a google search threw up this site and based on the other recommendations thought we'd give it a go and I couldn't of picked a better place.
