I was recently at the Artisan for a wonderful meal with my boyfiend for our anniversary. Firstly the staff couldn't have been more helpful or attentive ( there wasn't an empty seat in the house!)They were very giving with their time & not once seemed like they were underpressure. Extremely knowledgable & helpful with both the wine & food . A FAB selection of wines to choose from ! A very calm & fashionable ambience, yet we felt at home at the same time. No feeling of being rushed at all like you can experience in other places around Galway .. Now onto the best part: The food was amazing !!! Whilst it may be a bit on the expensive side ( not overly) I feel its worth every penny as you experience flavours & combinations of food you wont find anywhere else in Galway . I especially enjoyed the scallops to start..Im a bit of a scallops fanatic and was curious to see if the chef was as good as I had heard , Im delighted to say he is ! Pan-seared scallop starter with Wicklow blue cheese is definitely a recomendation! I hate blue cheese BTW! and yet I loved this!! I had the lamb for mains, I had wanted to go with the monkfish but as I said the last one was just ordered but like I said earlier there was not an empty seat in the house and on a sunny day in Galway your doing well to get it late in the day so I wasn't shocked only a little dissappointed however went with the lamb and I wasn't sorry either, it just fell right off the bone. Definitely recommend the Espressotini for dessert if you are into your cocktails . If you really want to treat somebody you care about be it family friend or partner this is the place to go! The Artisan is suitable to all ages with a open mind and open pallet . Be prepared for the Artisan experience. It was a first for me and certainly will not be the last. Thank you again to all the staff ! G
