TWO GREAT BALLETS FOR CHRISTMAS:
THE NUTCRACKER & SWAN LAKE!
"Never anything less than delightful"- The Irish Times
This is how the Irish Times described The Tchaikovsky Perm State Ballet's performances the last time they visited Dublin, and now this famous company is returning to these shores with two spectacular productions 5 - 9 December at The Bord Gais Energy Theatre. Accompanied by the RTE National Symphony Orchestra, they will be performing THE NUTCRACKER, everybody's favourite Christmas Ballet - and their own spectacular interpretation of the greatest ballet classic, SWAN LAKE!
Founded in 1870, The Tchaikovsky Perm State Ballet is widely recognised as one of the most prestigious ballet companies in the world. It is unique in that it draws all its dancers from its own famous ballet school in Perm in The Russian Urals.
Former graduates include Galina Ragozina-Panova, Galina Shlyapina, and Nadezhda Pavlova who went on to become Prima Ballerina of The Bolshoi Ballet.
During the Second World War, The Mariinsky Ballet Theatre (The Kirov) from St Petersburg took refuge in The Perm Theatre which is another reason for their very high standards and many similarities in technique.
These shows really are a must for Christmas, whether you are just looking for a great evening's treat for the family, or entertaining friends or business clients. - and of course there could not be a more welcome Christmas present!
