Tayto Theme Park in Ashbourne Co. Meath is a modern and well run activity park with an excellent programme of activities for kids and is an unforgettable day out for the whole family. Tayto have turned 55 acres of Meath farmland into an American-themed park which is one of the first themed parks of its kind in Ireland with over 100 attractions. At Tayto Theme Park they have an abundance of facilities to make your visit to them more enjoyable.The park and play area guarantees hours of fun for all the family. The full visitor experience takes approximately 4.5 hours from start to finish. Attractions In Tayto Park
The Pow Wow Playground

There are three separate play areas to enjoy the fun. The Pow Wow Playground itself suitable for the older children, complete with lots of equipment to climb, swing on and slide down. The Tiny Taters Patch this area is especially for kids under 6 years of age where they can enjoy a spiral climbing hill, a mini maze and a playground for little ones.
The Eagle Sky Adventure Zone will have exhilarating high ropes and zip wires aimed for the more adventurous kids and teens and possibly a parent or two!

Critter Country

This is Tayto Park's very own walk through ‘safari’, keep an eye out for wildcats, racoons, skunks and some very unusual creatures that Mr Tayto himself came across on his travels. There’s some fierce, some furry and some very cute.

The Pet-Tayto Coner

This is an area where the kids can feed and get up close to a wide variety of farm animals and pets including sleep, rabbits, ducks, geese, pheasants, 10 different types of rare birds and lots of especially colourful and unusual hens.

The Tayto Plains

Take the family on a stroll away from all the action and you will find yourself where the rare breed farm animals graze they include Dexter cattle, Jacob sheep, Vietnamese pot bellied pigs, miniature donkeys, and of course, the now legendary herd of buffalo.

The Buffalo Ridge

The Buffalo Ridge at Tayto Park is home for 15 years to Ireland’s first herd of American Bison. Over 20 buffalo roam the plains at Tayto Park, here they graze on the nutritious grasslands. Peep through the talking telescope at Buffalo Ridge and learn all about the Buffalo

The Potatohontus Native American Village

The Village comprises 6 different tipi tents each one hand painted in the national colours of its tribe. Here you will get a little flavour of the life and culture of our tribal friends from America, from the master craftsmanship of the Totem Poles, the ingenuity of the Tipi’s to the spirit of their native animals. And as Big Chief Running Water once said, ‘Don’t hang around the wrong end of a buffalo!’ Wise words indeed! See what’s going on inside each one of the six giant Tipi’s and have your photo taken beside a colossal Totem Poles.

Walkways

Sit by the relaxing waters of Cool Lough and Potato Falls, make a wish at Dream Catcher Falls or simply stroll along walkways and woodlands. Learn about the numerous plant life and animals or sit back and listen to a band at the Grand Bandstand. The Tayto Park walks combines nature’s power and beauty with some education for the kids and a lot of fun while they explore.

Factory Tour

Come and visit the Tayto Factory and learn all about the history of Tayto see how the nation’s favourite crisps are made from start to finish

Teahouse in the Tree House

Set in a huge old sycamore tree it’s no ordinary tree house, capable of hosting over 30 people and serving tea, coffee and refreshments. With platforms, rope bridges and a real Tree House full of sweet treats and home-made ice-cream, it’s a great place to hang out and get a bird’s eye view of Tayto Park.
Teahouse in the Tree House is open Saturday and Sundays from 12.00 - 17.00

How To Get To Tayto Theme Park Ashbourne In Meath
From Dublin

By Car - Take the M2, exit 5 which is sign posted Derry/Slane on the M50, to Ashbourne. Once onto the M2 continue to the very end of the motorway until you come to a roundabout take the first exit onto the N2 signposted Slane.
Continue on the N2 for about 100 yards. Then on the N2 take the first turn off on the left there you will see the sign for Tayto Park. Follow this road for 3.8km and it will lead you all the way to Tayto Park.
Alternatively you can continue on the N2 Slane road 3.8km and turn left onto the R155 to Curragha. Follow this road for 2 minutes that will you bring you to a crossroads. Turn right at the crossroads and you're just 1 minute from Tayto Park.
By Bus - Buses go from outside Liberty Hall take the 103 to Ashbourne. The journey is approximately 40 minutes to Ashbourne town centre. There is a taxi rank beside the bus stop and from Ashbourne it is a 5 minute taxi journey to Tayto Park. The Tayto Park bus will also be running on certain days from Ashbourne.

From Belfast

By Car - Take the M1 from Belfast to the M50. Take the 1st junction onto the M50 heading southbound. Take the 5th exit onto the M2. Continue on the N2 until the very end of the motorway you will then come to a roundabout take the first exit off the roundabout signposted Slane.
Continue on that road for about 100 yards. Then take the first turn off left, which will lead you all the way to Tayto Park which is just 3.6km away.
