Pink was part of a generation of pop divas that dominated the pop charts in the mid-00s. She stood out from her contemporaries thanks to her tomboy style and her honest, relatable lyrics. In recent years, she has been relatively quiet so what exactly has she been up to?

Born Alecia Moore, Pink took her stage name from the Reservoir Dogs character. She began her music career at the age of 14 when she joined girl group, Basic Instinct. When that group broke up she joined another, Choice. They signed a deal with music executive L.A. Reid, but disbanded after recording an album which was never released. Her success began when Reid offered her a solo deal.

Her debut album, Can't Take Me Home, was released in 2000. While it sold well, it received a mixed critical response. Pink's global profile exploded in 2001 when she was featured on the Moulin Rouge soundtrack. Alongside Mya, Lil' Kim and Christina Aguilera, she covered Lady Marmalade which was a worldwide hit.

For her next album, Missundaztood, Pink attempted to take more control over her sound. She began working with Linda Perry of 4 Non Blondes and developed a more rock influenced record. The album featured singles Get The Party Started, Don't Let Me Get Me and Just Like a Pill all of which performed well.

Between 2003 and 2008, she released three further albums, Try This, I'm Not Dead and Funhouse and toured around the world in support of these albums. During this time she also introduced aerial acrobatics into her live performances and concerts. In 2010, she released a greatest hits album to celebrate 10 years as a solo artist. Two new songs from that album, Raise Your Glass and Fuckin' Perfect, were both big hits.

Her last solo album was released in 2012. The Truth About Love was the sixth best-selling album of that year, selling over seven million copies worldwide. She began touring that album in 2013 but since then has kept a lower profile.

In 2014, she released an album, Rose Ave., as part of a band, You+Me. The band is a collaboration between her and Dallas Green, lead singer of City and Colour. Her other projects since then include writing for Celine Dion, writing a theme song for The Ellen Show and working with Sia and producers Stargate.

Pink is married to motocross racer, Carey Hart, and they have two children together. Their daughter was born in June 2011 and their son in December 2016. Earlier this month, she announced on Twitter that she had a new album in the works. New single What About Us will be released on August 10th.
