We're always partial to the odd cover version at pop gigs, especially when they're done well and performed with 100% committment.

Sometimes, the act can even catch you unawares by turning your expectations on their head.

Take That performing Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit', however, is not one of them.

Old footage (very old, considering Howard Donald's dreadlocks and Gary Barlow's mop of hair) of the boyband performing Kurt Cobain and co.'s classic at a gig has been unearthed and is currently doing the rounds on Twitter. With Barlow on vocals (and puke-inducing PVC trousers), Mark Owen on bass, Jason Orange on guitar and Howard Donald playing drums (badly), we'd love to know whose idea this actually was and give them a stern talking-to.
