There's no doubt that Skrillex's music is an acquired taste for many, but the DJ and electronic artist found himself in trouble with the law the other night because of it.
No, he wasn't arrested for crimes against music (harumph) - but rather for playing at too high a volume in his high-end Tesla car, the company co-founded by engineer/inventor Elon Musk.
He was pulled over by police in Hollywood and subsequently placed in handcuffs and then in the back seat of the police vehicle for not having his ID on him.
Although he was later released, the DJ's arrest was captured on camera by a fan before he took to Twitter to explain the situation:
.@elonmusk ur system in the tesla model x is just too 🔥🔥🔥🔥— SKRILLEX (@Skrillex) April 20, 2017
Just to be clear , I got pulled over for playing my music too loud ... but handcuffed because I didn't have my ID on me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯— SKRILLEX (@Skrillex) April 20, 2017
