Pete Doherty has spoken about how he has gotten 'clean' and stopped using drugs ahead of his recent gig at Paris's Bataclan venue.
In an interview with Channel 4 News's Krishnan Guru-Murthy before his recent London gig, the Libertines star spoke about wanting to get clean for the Bataclan because 'enough is enough'. He continued: "And then I thought, fuck it - I'll do London clean and see what happens then, because I've had some amazing nights here but I can't really remember any of them".
He went on to talk about how he kicked his well-documented drugs habit cold turkey. "All these programs, all these years and then finally, something's just gone... something's just clicked."
"It got to the point where I was 'Let's just fucking do this'. So I just lay on my back on the floor of the hotel room. After four or five mornings, that was it: I was no longer opiate-dependent."
