Although Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel had previously given Hillary Clinton's rival Bernie Sanders permission to use their song 'America' in his campaign, it seems that the former, at least, is taking the party line after Sanders' defeat.

Paul Simon appeared at the DNC last night to show his support for Clinton, just after comedian Sarah Silverman had riled the audience by telling the Sanders supporters that they were 'being ridiculous' by not supporting Clinton.

His solo performance of 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' marginally helped to pacify the audience.

Pop musician Demi Lovato also played at the Convention, making a speech about her struggle with mental illness, before performing her song 'Confident':
