If you happened to be watching The BAFTAS last night, you'll be aware that Kasabian kicked off the show with a rather odd performance.

The UK rockers played their song 'Stevie' for the assembled throng of movie stars, directors, writers and producers gathered at London's Royal Opera House yesterday evening, as a montage of films played loudly on a screen behind them.

Nobody seems clear on what the connection was - the song has not been used in a film - but it led to a lot of bored and bemused looking audience reaction shots, in any case.

The Twittersphere, meanwhile, was more concerned with what guitarist Serge Pizzorno was wearing.

He also sported a tail for the occasion:
