Justin Timberlake's Super Bowl halftime show went off without a hitch last night, as the star returned to the biggest 13 minute slot in entertainment for the first time since the infamous 'Nipplegate'

Jackson didn't turn up this time around, contrary to the rumours that had been circulating - nor did a hologram of Prince, which many had speculated on before the late musician's estate shut it down.

Instead, Timberlake's medley of his songs - beginning with recent single 'Filthy' set in a 'club' inside the stadium before moving out to the field - included 'Rock Your Body', 'Sexyback', 'My Love' and 'Cry Me a River', with a large brass band and some impressive dancing in the mix.

Prince did make an appearance on the backdrop, however, as Timberlake performed 'Until the End of Time' from his 'Future Sex/Love Sounds' album. The song segued into Prince's 'I Would Die 4 U' that was effectively a strange sort of duet as the stadium and its surrounding were lit up in purple.

Then, of course, there was a big finish with 'Can't Stop The Feeling!'
