Last night saw one of the most-star studded line-ups to ever grace a Dublin stage as both Irish and international musicians and stars flocked to the National Concert Hall to celebrate Shane MacGowan's 60th birthday.

The Pogues frontman's guests included Nick Cave, Johnny Depp, Bobby Gillespie, Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols), Damien Dempsey, Cerys Matthews, Clem Burke of Blondie and some of his former band members including Spider Stacy and Cait O'Riordan.

There were some unnanounced guests, too - including Bono (who played 'A Rainy Night in Soho' with Depp on guitar), Imelda May and Sinead O'Connor, who received a standing ovation when she took the stage to perform MacGowan's song 'You're the One'. Even President Michael D. Higgins turned up to present MacGowan with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
