Harry Styles played a solo show at the Manchester Arena on Monday night, and as he pointed out, it was a big occasion for him - particularly since he grew up in nearby Cheshire and came to the venue to watch artists when he was a kid himself.
During his show, he took a moment to pay tribute to the victims of last May's terror attack, saying: "The next song we’re going to play, I wrote it a couple of years ago and it’s always meant a lot to me. But tonight, I think it means so much more than it ever has before, being in this room. I thank you so much for being with me here tonight.”
He added: “I grew up coming to my first concerts in this room. I love this room. And I thank you for spending some time with us."
After playing his song 'Just A Little Bit of Your Heart', he said that he had originally written the track for Ariana Grande, who played the venue on the night of the attack. “She sang it a few times and now we’re gonna do our version for you," he said. "If you can find some way to join in please do so. I stand with you Manchester.”
