The idea of a former boyband member covering a hip-hop song sounds like the stuff of nightmares, but then again, Harry Styles is no ordinary former boyband member.
The One Direction man's debut album has been received positively since its release last week, and it seems like he's making all the right moves in his efforts to be 'taken seriously'.
Playing a surprise solo show in London the other night, Styles decided to cover Kanye West's 'Ultralight Beam', and he actually made a fair fist of it.
Turning the synthy song into a Purple Rain-style rock ballad, it was lighters aloft at small London venue The Garage.
