Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder has always been a vocal supporter of Barack Obama's, so it's little wonder that he answered the call to play at the outgoing US President's farewell address in Chicago last night.

While Obama's speech paid tribute to his wife and daughters, Vedder was joined by the Voice of Chicago choir to sing several songs, including Neil Young's 'Rockin' in the Free World',  Patti Smith's 'People Have the Power', Labi Siffre's 'So Strong' and his own song 'Rise'.
