Bono has made no secret of his admiration for the work of Allen Ginsberg in the past, having recited one of his poems on Joshua Tree outtake 'Drunk Chicken/America'.
The beat poet, in turn, recited the lyrics of U2's 'Miami' in New York in 1997, just months before he died.
Now, the U2 frontman has appeared in a video for the Poetry in America project to read one of his poems.
The Dubliner took on Ginsberg's 'Hum Bom!', which was written as a protest against the Gulf War and is arguably particularly prescient in today's political climate.
In fairness, it's far from an easy poem to read, but to give him credit he gives it socks and even looks to be enjoying himself.
