Computer, file this headline under things that would make absolutely no sense to anyone from thirty years ago and makes no sense to anyone today.

After Arcade Fire's cracking live show at Malahide Castle and then their follow-up secret gig in Whelan's, it seems like the Canadian band has become somewhat enamoured by Irish pop culture - to the point where they're remixing Declan Buckley and Telly Bingo.

You think we joke? We jest? We do not. Take a look.

In fairness, Telly Bingo's hard to explain to foreigners the same way it's difficult to explain how we elected a small man from Galway who writes poems about donkeys as President. It makes sense to us, in other words.

Fair play, though, that crunchy synth sound and night-drive vibe is something that's been sorely lacking from mid-afternoon programming on the national broadcaster.
