It's always nice when you learn that a good actor also has good taste in music: we've spotted the likes of Cillian Murphy and Aidan Gillen at many a gig, while other actors like Elijah Wood, Will Arnett and Daniel Radcliffe are all known to be musos, too.

You can now add American actor Michael Shannon to that list, as the man who plays General Zod in 'Man of Steel' - as well as many other excellent roles like Nelson Van Alden in Boardwalk Empire - proved his good taste at the weekend when he took part in a tribute concert to The Smiths in Illinois.

A number of musicians were playing their iconic 1986 album 'The Queen is Dead' as well as a number of other Smiths songs, and Shannon joined in on 'Shoplifters of the World Unite' and 'The Queen is Dead'. He's got the Morrissey moves down pat.
