That's right - Shane Lynch is recording a solo album and has turned to crowdfunding website PledgeMusic to raise funds for it.
The Boyzone man had previously dipped his toe into music outside of the band when he and Keith Duffy released a cover of Milli Vanilli's 'Girl You Know It's True' in 2000, a solo cover of the Hothouse Flowers song 'Don't Go' in 2005, and most recently as a member of the group Cruise Control in 2012 - but has never released a solo album.
In a video accompanying the campaign, the Dubliner encourages fans to 'get involved' by pledging their support. Rewards for pledgers include the usual signed t-shirts and CDs, but for £50 (€68) you can buy a 15-minute Skype call with him on 'any subject you please'; £150 (€205) will buy you either a 'studio hang', i.e. a whole day with him in the studio, or a VIP meet & greet with him before a Boyzone concert.
£200 (€273), meanwhile, will get you a 'Day at the Races' with Lynch, where you'll go to an unspecified racetrack to watch him 'practice his turns and times for his Japspeed (motorsport) team' and £2,500 (€3,423) will get you a personal appearance at your function for two hours (but no performance). If you want a private show, you'll have to fork over £7,000 (€9,587).
At time of writing, the project is 28% funded with 26 days to go.
The full list of rewards can be seen here.
