This is a story that has seemed to crop up every few months over the last few years, only to have cold water poured on the hopes of fans holding out for a reunion yet again.

The other day, The Sun reported that the Spice Girls had been locked in 'secret talks' about getting back together in 2018 for several projects, including an album and a TV special. They also claimed that getting Victoria Beckham - the one member who had been adamantly against a reunion, if rumours are to be believed - on board was a 'coup' for the band.

Now, however, it seems that those reports are once again a load of rubbish, as Beckham - who, let's remember, is now a highly successful fashion designer - told This Morning.

"It is not happening," she said. "At some point you’ve gotta know when it’s time say, ‘that was great. Girl Power will always be out there and is something that we all still believe.”

She added: "What I do now is still all about girl power, but it’s empowering women through power. I don’t think I’ll be slipping into a PVC catsuit anytime soon.”

The last time we saw all five members together was at the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics, and it looks like that may be it... for the foreseeable future, at least.
