VIDEO - On stage malfunction forces Mariah Carey to sing about her shoes. Seriously.
Mariah Carey had something of an odd reaction when her in-ear sound monitor malfunctioned during a New Year's performance in Australia on New Year's Eve. Some gremlins in the system prevented Carey from hearing the backing track which she was singing along to so, completely lost, she made up some lyrics on the spot.
"These might not be the best lyrics I ever wrote, but what are you gonna do?", she sang. "I'm in a dress that's a little but small and little bit big and my shoes, my shoes, my shoes..."
To be fair, those are better lyrics than 'Touch My Body'.
Mariah later directed some of her frustration at the show's sound crew: "There's like 200 of you, can one of you just fix the ear thing? I hope I'm not asking for the moon and the stars... there's a lot of sound problems going on here. I don't know if it's me, or you, or something in the air, but can we fix it?"
Check out the (frankly hilarious) video below.
