The U2 juggernaut appears to be kicking back into full steam. Last week we brought you news of the first original U2 song to be released in three years and now it's been confirmed that Bono and the boys will release it and another new song as part of Record Store Day's Black Friday on November 29th.
The songs, 'Ordinary Love' and a new version of 'Breathe' (which was originally featured on the band's 2009 album No Line on the Horizon), will be release on 10-inch vinyl and you'll have to move quickly to snap 'em up because only 10,000 are being pressed.
'Ordinary Love' was written as a tribute to former South African president Nelson Mandela and features in the upcoming movie Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom and it has been reported that the band wrote the song after seeing an early cut of the movie.
The movie's producer Harvey Weinstein was quoted on the U2 website as saying: "When I asked them to consider writing a song for Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom, it was the fastest 'yes' I have ever received. The band saw various cuts of the film over the summer and worked diligently to write a song that truly reflects Nelson Mandela. I think they did a brilliant job honouring the man and leader they have known for 20 years."
U2 are currently putting the finishing touches on their new album, which is expected to be complete before the end of the year and will have a presumed release date somewhere in the first quarter of 2014.
