U2 will play Dublin's Croke Park for the first time since 2009 this summer, as part of the 30th anniversary tour of their seminal album 'The Joshua Tree'.

Bono and co. have played the stadium numerous times over the years, of course, most recently as part of their 360 Tour in 2009.

However, they'll be celebrating the landmark anniversary of arguably their best-known album on July 22nd, with support from Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. The tour announcement promises 'every song' played from the album at 'every show'.

Tickets are on general sale next Monday, January 16th at 9am from usual outlets, but an exclusive pre-sale for U2 Subscribers will begin at U2.com from Wednesday, January 11th (9am) through Friday, January 13th (5pm) local times. Tickets will be general admission on the floor and reserved seating in the stands. There will be a 4 ticket limit for subscriber purchases and a 6 ticket limit commencing with public sales.

With a spare slot going at the three-gig limit at Croke Park this summer (Coldplay are playing there on July 8th) and a gap on their European tour schedule either side of the 22nd (below), you wouldn't bet against them playing a second date - watch this space...
