Record Store Day usually throws a few rarities and surprises into the mix for its annual celebration, but David Bowie fans will be particularly surprised by this year's offerings.
Two previously-unreleased Bowie albums will be released as limited editon vinyls to mark the 10th anniversary of the event, which celebrates the physical product and encourages music fans worldwide to get out and support their local independent record stores. This year's event is on April 22nd.
The three-album set 'Cracked Actor (Live in Los Angeles 1974)' was recorded on the 'Philly Dogs' tour in 1974, and will be presented in its entirety across five sides of vinyl, with the sixth featuring an etching of Bowie.
'Bowpromo', a promo album from 1971 that has become a collector's item for fans because it was only pressed in small quantities, will also be released for RSD. The album features alternate versions of some of his best-known songs, including 'All You Pretty Things', 'Kooks' and 'Queen Bitch'.
