Tour de Picnic Back for 2012

The Tour de Picnic charity cycle will return for this year's Electric Picnic. The event will see up to 1,000 cyclists depart from Tallaght to the site of the festival in Stradbally, Co. Laois, in aid of two new charities - Children's Sunshine Home and LauraLynn House, both of which care for children with life limiting conditions.

The cycle has previously raised upwards of €550,000 for Temple Street's Children's Hospital neurosurgery unit.

Today FM's Ray D'Arcy and Jennifer Maguire of the Republic of Telly are among the 800 cyclists who have already pledged to complete the 80km cycle. Each cyclist is required to raise €500 in order to be eligible.
