It's Easter time once again, a day when we're supposed to contemplate religious sacrifice, death and resurrection, but we're going to mark the occasion by putting together this little lists of songs about chocolate. That's just how we do things around here. Check out the rich, velvety goodness below.

Electric Six - Chocolate Pope

A song about chocolate AND religion?! We've hit Easter paydirt with this one. Electric Six have always been one of the more, shall we say, enigmatic bands to emerge in recent years. But we're pretty sure that you could have guessed that from the title and pretty much any music video they've ever released.

Tay Zonday - Chocolate Rain

Tay Zonday became something of a YouTube sensation when his song 'Chocolate Rain' went viral online. Currently just shy of 90 MILLION views online, this frankly barmy song has handed Zonday a level of fame that he wouldn't have achieved had the song been, y'know, good.

The Candy Man - Sammy Davis Jr.

While this song isn't specifically about chocolate, we feel that it qualifies anyway. Those film buffs among you will recognise this song from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Those of you who don't really need some better taste in movies.

Isaac Hayes - Chocolate Salty Balls

Isaac Hayes enjoyed a big career resurgence when he aligned himself with South Park's Trey Parker and Matt Stone to provide the voice of Chef, but threw it all away when South Park criticised Scientology, a faith very close to Hayes' heart, in one of their most notorious episodes ever. Hayes' time on South Park will likely be remembered for his excellent rendition of the lyrically dubious 'Chocolate Salty Balls'.

Hot Chocolate - You Sexy Thing

Okay, this one might be a bit of a stretch given that chocolate is in the title of the band and not the song itself. But hey, we make the rules around here and have decided that it counts. Plus it's Easter, no need to be so argumentative. Sheesh.

Happy Easter everyone!
