Although it's only been open for seven years, BIMM Dublin has already seen a number of promising young artists and bands pass through its doors on their way to superstardom.

The music college, situated on two campuses on Dublin's Francis Street and The Coombe, equips students with the necessary skills - both the creative side and the industry-driven aspects - to pursuing a career in music, with some top-class tutors from the Irish music scene on hand to offer advice and share their wisdom. Some current tutors include Ro Yourell (Delorentos), James Byrne (Villagers, SOAK) and Louise Macnamara (Heathers).

They recently held a showcase at the college featuring recent graduates Sub Motion, who have worked with producer James Darker (Hozier, Rihanna, will.i.am), DAY_S and Erica-Cody to highlight the opportunities and possibilities of their course.

Now, the college has reminded people who may be interested in their Commercial Modern Music degree programme that the deadline for applications via the CAO system is next Thursday, February 1st.

They also recently launched a new after-school programme for kids aged 13-17 in the D8 area called the 'Liber8 Music Project', which is set to run for a second 10-week term beginning next month.

So if you - or someone in your life - is seriously thinking about a career in music after school, you'll find more info on BIMM.ie.
