Suede vocalist Brett Anderson has revealed that the Stone Roses have finished some new songs for a forthcoming new album.

Anderson, talking to NME, said that his friend, and bass player for the Stones Roses, Mani told him that "a couple" of new songs had been written but, at this point, there is no timeline for when any eventual new material might see the light of day.

"I'd love to hear some new stuff from them", Anderson said. "They were a really special band and I've got a lot of goodwill for them."

Meanwhile, Suede have announced that their next album Bloodsports on March 18th.

"It's about lust, it's about the chase, it's about the endless carnal game of love", according to Anderson. "It was possibly the hardest we've ever made but certainly the most satisfying. It's ten furious songs for me have reclaimed from ourselves what Suede was always about; drama, melody and noise."
