He incurred their wrath by using their songs 'You Can't Always Get What You Want' and 'Start Me Up' during numerous campaign rallies leading up to the election, and now The Rolling Stones have reacted to his win last week.

Mick Jagger took to Twitter to make a joke about singing the song at his inauguration in January, although it could be interpreted either way.

He later admitted that the world outside America was 'mystified' at Trump's victory, saying: "Everyone outside the US is kind of mystified, I’d say, that’s the polite word."

Other members of the band have commented, including Ronnie Wood, who said he wasn't surprised what happened after Brexit. “There will be some changes made,” he said. “Hopefully they’ll be good ones.”

Drummer Charlie Watts, on the other hand, chose to take a more optimistic view of the situation. "I don’t think he’s gonna be as radical as he was coming into it,' he told AP. "I think a lot of what he said is gonna be tempered down, because if it isn’t, it’s gonna be a hell of bloody ride for four years.”
