Big news for fans of The Cranberries this morning - it appears that the Limerick rockers are ramping up their activity with an Irish gig in the near future.

The band reformed in 2009 and released an album, 'Roses', in 2011, but have been relatively quiet since then, with Dolores O'Riordan more recently embarking upon an endeavour with musicians Andy Rourke and Ole Kortesky under the band name D.A.R.K.

However, a new Cranberries album featuring some of their biggest hits 'Unplugged' is due out in April, and they have announced a date at Dublin's Bord Gais Energy Theatre on Thursday, May 18th in support of it. It will see the band perform acoustically with accompaniment from a string quartet.

Tickets are from €49.65 and on sale this Friday, February 10th at 9am from usual outlets.
