***UPDATED***Don't worry, there hopefully isn't too much of a bang of Garth Brooks off this scenario as Bruce is reportedly only set to play two nights in the stadium this summer. Then again - the dates in question do clash with championship matches.

The Independent are this morning reporting that The Boss is bringing The River tour to Croker "on the weekend of May 27-29... The concerts are expected to take place on Friday 27 and Saturday 28, although a third may be added on Sunday 29 if demand warrants it." Sunday night too, so! Given the dates pencilled in, it means that certain GAA matches will have to be rescheduled, but hopefully that won't be too much of a problem...

The paper reports: "While there will undoubtedly be some complaints over switching championship dates to facilitate concerts, the revenue generated by entertainment superstars has become an integral part of the Croke Park Stadium model. In turn, Croke Park feeds substantial amounts of money into central funds for distribution to counties and other units of the GAA."

All that conjecture aside, if you were planning to relive the magic of Slane all those years ago, you may have to watch this space...

UPDATE 8:10am: Aiken Promotions have just sent the following press release: "On their last visit to Ireland, they played sell out Shows around the country in Limerick, Cork and Belfast before wrapping up their European Tour with 2 nights in Kilkenny. Now Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band have confirmed a return to Dublin - last appearing in the city in 2012 - to play for the first time ever at Croke Park.
