Look out, Ed Sheeran - you're about to be outdone by your mate.

It was always going to be a pretty impressive feat to outsell Sheeran's huge third album 'Divide', but it looks like Taylor Swift's 'Reputation' is doing the business.

Part of that may be down to the fact that Swift has withheld the album from streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music, meaning that if people want to hear it, they need to shell out for it. Of course, there will always be illegal downloaders too, but that would have happened, regardless.

Swift's fifth album sold a remarkable 700,000 copies in its first day of release in the US alone, and by Sunday had sold close to 925,000 copies. We can assume, before the Nielsen Soundscan figures come in, that she has passed the 1 million mark at this point; not bad for four days.

Her last album, '1989', sold 1.29 million copies in its first week, and it's safe to say that 'Reputation' - with the rave reviews pouring in - is going to top that.

Other contenders for biggest-selling album apart from Sheeran are Kendrick Lamar's 'DAMN' and Bruno Mars's '24K Magic' - all of which have had streaming figures contribute to their cumulative sales performances.
