Just days ahead of his trial for voluntary manslaughter against two men in 2015, Suge Knight has accepted a plea deal which will see him serve 28 years in jail.

The infamous rap mogul, who was the CEO of Death Row Records, faced a life sentence if convicted at trial. Knight plead no contest to voluntary manslaughter after an incident in 2015 on the set of 'Straight Outta Compton' saw him running over two men with a car in Compton, Los Angeles.

Knight, who was featured in the movie and not in a favourable light, was charged with murder, attempted murder and hit-and-run over the incident. He was previously charged and convicted of several crimes, and spent four years in jail out of a nine-year sentence in 1997, being released in 2001.

Per the terms of his deal for the voluntary manslaughter conviction, Knight will spend 28 years in jail against time served as he was waiting three years for trial.
