Stone Roses' Dutch comeback gig ends in controversy
And suddenly people are remembering why they split up in the first place… The Stone Roses latest comeback gig in Amsterdam on Tuesday night ended in typically odd fashion when drummer Alan 'Reni' Wren stormed off stage before the band had completed their encore.
Years of acrimony appeared to have been overcome when the band announced plans for a Summer comeback tour across Europe, but those plans appear to be in disarray after only a handful of shows.
The audience in the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam were waiting for the standard encore when Ian Brown came to the stage and announced that "the drummer has gone home. I'm not joking, the drummer's gone home."
"Get all your aggro out on me, I can take it", Brown continued before the house DJ began to play music amid a chorus of boos from the crowd.
Still, you can't say incidents like this are entirely unexpected. It wouldn't be a Stone Roses tour without some sort of controversy.

Very unproffessional of Reni, it doesn't really matter what rubbish is going on in the background, he should have finished the show for the fans who've waited half their lives to see the band play. disgusted.
