'The Last Ship' - the first musical written by Sting - is coming to Dublin for a run next summer.

The show, which stars Jimmy Nail, sees the musician draw on his personal experiences of growing up in England's north-east region, and "tells the story of a community amid the demise of the shipbuilding industry in Wallsend, Tyne and Wear, with the closure of the town's Swan Hunter shipyard." It premiered in Chicago in 2014 and will run for four weeks in Newcastle before travelling throughout the UK and Ireland.

It'll run at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre from June 4th - 9th 2018.

Tickets go on sale from usual outlets this Friday, November 3rd at 9am.
