We may be saying goodbye to music streaming site Soundcloud as we know it - Spotify is allegedly in talks to take it over.

Spotify are already the biggest player in the music streaming business, although the Financial Times claims that it is yet to make a profit, despite generating £1.5 billion last year alone.

Soundcloud is in the same boat, despite attracting 175 million users per month - but it's believed that Spotify want to enhance the 'discovery of new artists' element that Soundcloud has become known for.

The amalgamation of the two is reportedly in 'advanced stages' and a figure of £350 million (€406 million) has been named by the FT.
