Spinal Tap's Michael McKean in critical condition
Spinal Tap star Michael McKean, who played the band's lead singer David St. Hubbins in the classic movie, is in a critical condition in hospital after being hit by a car in New York City on Wednesday.
The 64 year old actor suffered numerous injuries, including a broken leg and facial lacerations in the accident. The accident occurred when McKean was walking to a Broadway theatre for a performance of his hit play The Best Man.
McKean has been Tweeting from his hospital bed thanking fans for their concern: ""Lucky man: best wife, great kids, awesome docs and nurses, priceless friends; a little overwhelmed by the sweet tweets."
McKean is expected to recover fully.
