The late, great George Harrison died at the age of 58 in 2001, but it seems that not everyone was aware of the Beatle's passing.

A hacker using the now-suspended Twitter handle @j5zlol managed to gain access to Harrison's Twitter account, which is run by his estate and used to share facts, memories and pictures from the guitarist's past.

He changed the bio to "Hey George, follow @j5zlol when you see this and shoot me a DM. I'll help you secure your accounts :) I don't want to cause you any harm, thanks bud", but when people pointed out that Harrison had been dead for almost 15 years, he claimed not to be aware of that fact - later tweeting from his own account "Well sh*t, I hacked someone and I didn't even know they were dead... my bad".

They also tweeted an apology from the Beatle's account, now deleted:

Fans, however, aren't happy at what they see as the hacker's disrespect.
