Smashing Pumpkins Unveil First Free Song

08 December 2009

Smashing Pumpkins have unveiled the first song of Teargarden by Kaleidoscope, their 44 track project that will see every song available for free online as well as being sold as 11 special 4 track EPs and a full box set.

The first song of the project is called 'A Song For A Son,' and is available to download for free over on smashingpumpkins.com. It has a bit of a 70s prog feel to it, with loads of old school electric guitar. Billy Corgan told spinner.com that the song's "got something to do about not having any kids and thinking about why I don't have any kids ... And then also kind of thinking about my relationship with my father -- there's some kind of connection there, but it's not overt. I didn't set out to write that. It just rolled out of me."
