Simon Cowell may have been instrumental in the global success of One Direction, but it seems like since the boyband went their separate ways, he's been left out in the cold.

The music mogul is none too happy about that fact, either, if his recent comments are anything to go by.

He told The Sun: "I hear so many things now which they're doing, which I'm not involved with. It's a bit like I'm getting the hint you don't want me to come to the party. Sorry for making you famous."

Cowell was most likely referring to the fact that both Niall Horan and Liam Payne have signed solo deals with other labels instead of his own Syco - although Harry Styles has remained with him. He also claimed in a recent interview with EW that Zayn Malik "should have come to me" with his new TV show Boys, allegedly based on his time with the boyband.

"Look, I'm not going to lie - when I hear they're doing something, and they haven't approached me, you think, 'Well I would have liked you to', but it's their choice," he said. "I'm not bitter - much."
