Alongside the upcoming Meteor Choice Music Prize for Irish Album of the Year 2014 ceremony, the last few years have seen an extra gong handed out to an Irish act for 'Best Song of the Year.'

Previous winners have included Gavin James for his tune 'Say Hello' (2013) and Royseven for 'We Should Be Lovers' (2012).

The shortlist for this year's award - which is announced on the same night (March 5th) as the main prize at the live show at Dublin's Vicar Street - is below.
