Picture it now: Ryan Adams enjoying a hot pot and a pint of bitter in the Rovers Return. Ryan Adams wandering across the famous cobblestones. Ryan Adams as a... time travelling cyborg on Coronation Street?
The American musician's love of British culture is no secret, particularly his love of Manchester band The Smiths - but it stretches as far as Coronation Street, too.
He took to Twitter at the weekend to reveal that he had been watching Coronation Street on his day off touring, and also that he really wanted to appear on the long-running soap - including a few interesting plot/character suggestions.
It wasn't long before the Corrie Twitter account itself - along with some of its stars - were chiming in.
Stranger things have happened on Coronation Street...
I'm watching @itvcorrie on my day off and I've decided I want to play a time traveler cyborg on it.

I would pay good money to see this be an actual thing. The cyborg could run a fish and chip shop down the street from the Rovers Return Inn.

I am so excited to announce I'll be the new time traveling, cyborg fish and chips shop owner on @itvcorrie
