Elton John will bow out of live performances after his huge 'farewell tour' that'll be spread across three years - but one person who won't be in attendance at any of them is Rod Stewart.

The English singer made his feelings on 'farewell tours' known during an interview on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, and to put it mildly, he's not a fan.

"I did email her [Elton] and said, ‘What, again dear?'”," he said. "“And I didn’t hear anything back!”

He continued: "If I retire, I won’t make an announcement. I’ll just fade away. I don’t think this is a big deal, it stinks of selling tickets.”

When fellow guest Cyndi Lauper interjected to say that the tour wasn't a 'bad idea', Stewart said: "It’s dishonest. It’s not rock and roll.”
