16 people, some of them underage, were taken to hospital during the dubstep star's recent live date in Chicago.

Several Skrillex fans are recovering after being hospitalized at Skrillex's concert in Chicago's Navy Pier at the weekend. It is thought that a "bad batch" of drugs available for sale by a concertgoer is to blame for the bout of illnesses.

Andrew Bazos, the venue's safety officer, blamed the incident squarely on those in the venue who misbehaved (and, more oddly, their parents), saying to NBC Chicago: "If their parents were there, they would have gone home with their parents… It's not fair to make the promoter take care of kids who don't know how to behave. They're young and often irresponsible."

The concert promoters SFX said: "We're very strict at the door so that people don't bring bad things in. I personally think that the more that word gets out there, the better."

This is just the latest in a series of drug incidents at EDM shows across the globe. Swedish DJ Avicii has had 65 of his fans admitted to hospital for treatment during just two shows within just a month of each earlier this year.
