QOTSA frontman Josh Homme intends to release a follow-up to the band's 2013 record ...Like Clockwork this year, if reports emerging online today are to be believed.

Speaking to the good people at Rolling Stone, Homme commented that they have "more than enough songs" to release a quickfire sequel to last year's album - which was their first since 2007's Era Vulgaris. When asked if it was possible to get new material out in 2014, Homme added: "Absolutely. We're booked 'til September, but after that we plan to jump in the studio and get going."

The magazine also pressed the frontman on exactly what it's like being in studio with a band as intense as Queens of the Stone Age.

"When it's time to make music, that's about getting lost for me", he said. "To be a control freak is not half as good as being a freak who's actually in control. You're feeling around in the dark for something that feels good. As long as you're not in an orgy, that can be an amazing moment."

In further Homme-related news, the singer has also been confirmed to make a brief transition to television screens when he guests on US comedy TV show Portlandia alongside stars Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein when its fourth season premieres later this year.
