One of the most exciting hip-hop groups in Irish music right now, Super Silly have seriously impressed with their single releases to date - not least the brilliant 'Not Ready to Leave' from last year, and their most recent track 'Here', released in March.

Now, the Dublin four-piece are gearing up for a headline show at The Button Factory on Saturday, May 19th -  so we thought we'd check in with group member Glory to chat inspirations, influences and what they have planned for the future as they took on entertainment.ie's Big Questionnaire.

In three words, describe the minute before you walk on stage.
Don't Fuck Up!

How do you wind down after a gig?
Just get food and chat shit with the boys. Reflect on what went right or wrong and why.

What’s the one song you wish you’d written or recorded first?
A song called Johnny & Donna by Mali Music.

What song of yours are you most proud of?
It’s an unreleased song that doesn’t actually have a name yet. But I love 'Here'!

Whose career do you envy, and why?
Chance The Rapper: came from similar settings as we did. He’s a church boy. He’s obviously extremely intelligent and also has amazing talent. To be where he is, doing what he’s doing at his age (he’s only a year older than me) without backing from a major label, is just remarkable.

Vinyl or digital downloads?
I’ve never actually owned any vinyl records, I’m what some would call a millennial! So I’m gonna have to go with digital.

Give your thoughts on Spotify in three words.
Money Making Machine

You can only have three albums on your phone/in your house at any one time - what three would you pick for today?
The Transition of Mali by Mali Music, Reality Show by Jazmine Sullivan and Coloring Book by Chance The Rapper.

Name one piece of music memorabilia that you wish you owned.
I dunno this counts, but if someone could get me a copy of Kanye West’s hard drive so I can hear all his unreleased demos that’d be great! If that doesn’t count I’d probably go for MJ’s white glove or his original Thriller jacket.

Name one record, one book and one film that everyone should hear / read / see.
Masterpiece by Jazmine Sullivan, Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki, and the pursuit of Happiness starring Will Smith.

Pick the director and lead actor(s) for a biopic about your life.
If Robert Downey Jr. was black, he’d be the one! But he isn’t, so I’m gonna have to go with Daniel Kaluuya as me, directed by Martin Scorsese.

You’re ordering take-away, what do you get?
I’m getting some house special fried rice from Charlie's on Westmoreland Street.

You’ve been given €100,000 to spend, but only 1 hour to spend it. What do you buy?
This is literally my favourite game. 5k goes on a memorable holiday with the boys - they cover their own flights, though! Obviously I’d prebook and prepay for everything. 5k goes on brand new music rig - Keyboards, home studio equipment, etc. Another 5k would go to a brand new wardrobe. And then 10k on a new car. I’d then use the remaining 75k to buy the top 10 most promising cryptocurrencies.

Describe your perfect day off.
Aimlessly walking around the streets of Toronto with the boys on a hot summer’s day talking to strangers. I know we said day off, but the day would have to end with us performing to a massive crowd that knows all our songs - and then some after party banter!‌
