Pursued By Dogs are a four-piece from Dublin who make music with computers and guitars.

The band are gearing up for the release of their new single 'A Tunnel' as well as their debut album soon, and will play a free-entry midnight show at Whelan's this Thursday, October 12th.

Ahead of their gig, we caught up with the indietronica group to answer The entertainment.ie Questionnaire.

What’s the music that you listened to growing up, that you still listen to today?
Radiohead have still very much got it… I listened to The Beatles a lot growing up, and it has to be said that they have aged well, musically speaking.

When did you first realise you wanted a career in music?
When I saw the Live Forever video where they bury the drummer. There was no turning back after that.

In three words, describe the minute before you walk on stage.
Sweaty whiskey nerves

How do you wind down after a gig?
Asking audience members really specific questions about the gig to check if they actually watched.

What’s the one song you wish you’d written or recorded first?
All My Friends by LCD Soundsystem

What song of yours are you most proud of?
Banish the Spiders from our forthcoming album. A prog song packed into 5 mins.

What’s your favourite venue to perform in?
Whelan’s upstairs or downstairs. Very much our home turf.

Your best and worst gig so far?
Best was charity show we did for SCOOP Foundation in the old Block T. Worst was a teenage disco in a part of the country that shall rename nameless.

Whose career do you envy, and why?
The National – for them to be around that long and maintain that level of quality over so many albums, is very inspiring.

In Berlin doing anything.

Tell us why we should listen to your forthcoming album.
Because we really f*cking mean it. And you can cry and dance to it. Seriously.

What else do you have planned for 2017?
We play Whelan’s main room at midnight on October 12th with 1000 Beasts and are supporting Columbia Mills in the Button Factor November 17th – We have other exciting gig news on the way, but we’re not allowed spill the beans until they’ve been officially announced. Our next single is out in early November and will be accompanied by a video we’re very excited about.
